My last photo from this pack that I played with was, “Devil’s Eye”. It is part of the “Doom Pack” at the Halloween Shop & Hop. Landmark to Halloween Shop and Hop

It wasn’t hard as a die hard Lord of The Rings fan to decide what I was doing with this photo. I took it to my sim, Tranquility Isle, where I already had a tall tower to use in the foreground. Tranquility Isle The result was perfect!

One of the many reasons I love Specter Skies is the ability these skies have to awaken my creativity. I have taken multiple photos of Tranquility Isle, but none of them look this edgy. ☺ I am a firm believer that the right sky in Second Life makes all the difference when you are taking photos. The skies become something you can manipulate to fit the exact mood of your capture. Specter Skies requires minute adjustments, they are glorious already.

Lava Sun-Specter Skies EEP@ Halloween Shop & Hop October 4!

Lava Sun is a part of the “Doom Pack”.

This EEP is so stunning! The combination of the Lava Sun and the orange glow that surrounds it are perfect! One of the best features in my mind, was the ability to adjust the size of the sun using the “Scale” slider on the “Personal Lighting” settings on the Firestorm Viewer.

I can see this EEP being used for all kinds of fantasy photos from apocalyptic to alternate universes/planets. It is bold, dramatic, and pulls your viewer into your capture. “Lava Sun” is one of SIX EEPs in the “Doom Pack”. The others include: Abyss, Devil’s Eye, Devious, Eclipse, and Suspense. The SL~Amazing! Art Expo @Tranquility Isle

I began my journey in SL in 2009 and from the beginning, I had a passion for landscaping and sim building. It wasn’t until 2021 that my dearest friend, Gaelen Blackwood, gifted me two sims to build to my heart’s content.

It was then that Tranquility Isle (then Tranquility Base Marina) was born. It was named for the site on the Moon where humans landed in 1969. Gaelen has a passion for science and all things celestial. To honor him, Tranquility Isle was given it’s unique name.

Fast forward to October of 2023 and I was approached by the Admins of the SL ~Amazing! Flickr groups. They wanted to use Tranquility Isle to host their 1st Art Expo Photo Contest.

I am truly humbled and honored to be asked. Tranquility Isle is a labor of creative love. It is a place in my mind that I brought to life as a refuge from all the chaos and madness of real life. It’s

Its beautiful trees and exquisite fields of flowers bring a smile to my face each time I walk among them.

Specter Skies EEP- “Full Moon” – This EEP is absolutely amazing! There are a handful of EEPs that include the moon in the them, but this one is the most realistic I have seen. The aura around the moon is also breathtaking and adds depth of color to the entire sky. ☁☾ Moving the moon is easy to do in the “Personal Lighting” settings (Firestorm Viewer). Dragging the Sun (the yellow sphere) will adjust the position of the moon in the sky.

The “Stardust” Pack includes 5 EEPs total. Once I open my pack, I move the entire folder to my “Settings” folder in my inventory. That way, I can find them all if I want. All the EEPs will show up in your environment chooser under “Specter”.

I use a Firestorm Viewer and they have a “Quick Preference” button in the far right, bottom corner where all over the environment controls can be changed. I use this to find my EEPs when taking photos.

Pemberley is a beautiful sim owned by Jude and Natalia Mortensen. It was landscaped by Terry Fotherington in such unique and alluring ways that it is a treasure trove of exploring opportunities. As a photographer, there are so many “snapshots” to be found in Pemberley.

I stumbled on this sim back in 2021 in a Destination Search. I was lured by the name. What girl doesn’t want to go to Pemberley? 😍 As an avid Austen enthusiast, I fell in love with the first sim immediately. There were so many nods to Austen scattered throughout the sim. I have only recently begun to explore the new Pemberley and have found it equally as beautiful and photogenic.

Change can be a good thing.

As a photographer, it is always difficult when a sim you have grown to love in Second Life is taken up or redone. Over time you learn exactly where things are located and enjoy the challenge of returning to a familiar place to take pictures. “Flower of Scotland” used to be “Auld Lang Syne” and the themes are incredibly similar. Visions of Scottish Highlands are laid out across the sim expertly transporting its visitors to a calm and stress-free destination.

I loved the older version of this sim, but I love the newer version even more! ღ
